About the Program
The SAT Scholarship Class is an opportunity for youths, not only to receive educational advancement, but also to establish meaningful relationships with mentors and peers. The program was first developed by volunteers who valued the importance of higher education and understood the precarious nature of adolescence.
Requirements & Important Dates
- Financial documentation of family income below 250% of Federal Poverty Guideline.
- Location: AWCA, 9 Genesee Avenue, Teaneck, NJ 07666
- Pretest: Monday, July 6, 2015, 9:30am – 1:30pm
- Orientation and First Day of Class: Tuesday, July 7, 2015, 9:30am – 1:30pm
- Final Day Field Trip: Monday, August 10, 2015

- 9:30 – 10:00 Praise & Bible Study (optional)
- 10:00 – 11:00 SAT I: Reading
- 11:00 – 12:00 SAT I: Writing
- 12:00 – 12:30 Lunch
- 12:30 – 1:30 SAT I: Math
- 1:30 – 3:30 SAT II (Bio E/M, Math IIC)
- Friday
- 9:30 – 1:30 SAT I Practice Test
- 1:30 – 3:30 SAT II Practice Test
Policies
- New students will be admitted on a first come, first serve basis. Returning students will be placed on a waiting list and admitted only if there is availability after the close of the application process.Policies
- AWCA has the right to ask any student to leave the program based on their lack of effort, unwillingness to participate, and/or truancy.
- All students will be allowed only three (3) absences. This will be strictly enforced with the exception of medical emergencies.
- Class will begin at 10:00am in the morning and 12:30pm after lunch. Students will only be allowed a maximum of five (5) tardies for the duration of the program.
