Angel Basket Food Drive
Angel Basket Food Drive periodically provides meals and/or food supplies to the vulnerable members of our community. It began as AWCA’s immediate response to families and friends who were facing hardship during COVID-19. Since 2020 more than 14,000 Angel Baskets have been provided thanks to generous donors.
What is an “Angel Basket”?
Angel Baskets are individually prepared packages containing meals and/or food supplies. These packages are prepared 1-2 days prior to pickup date.
What is in an Angel Basket?
Supplies vary every round of distribution due to the amount of donation/partnering organizations. Items may range from grains, fruits, snacks, prepared meals, holiday cards, masks/PPE (during COVID-19), etc.
Who can receive Angel Basket?
Recipients are vulnerable members of our community and are determined on first-come, first-served basis. Target groups are (but not limited to) low-income families, seniors, single-parent household, homeless, etc.
When do I apply for Angel Basket?
Application opens 2-3 days prior to the distribution date: each round our contacts are notified of the application opening via email and/or KakaoTalk announcement. Some rounds are notified to all of our community; other rounds are selective to the most vulnerable due to donation availability.
How do I apply for Angel Basket?
You can apply by calling us at AWCA (201-862-1665) directly as soon as you are notified via email and/or KakaoTalk announcement. Angel Basket is on very high-demand; spots are usually filled within several hours post-announcement. Be on the lookout and apply right away as soon as the announcement is out!
